March 11th, 2009Watchmen

There seems to be two and a half hours of my life missing. I’d kind of like them back.

(Finally!! An update to your blog! I’ve missed you!) Ah, yes, how many times have I heard this “two and a half hours of my life I’ll never get back” comment from my dear movie-buff sons? I must warn them of this theatrical travesty before they waste their valuable time.

I think my hibernation is over since DST kicked in. Dan loves the Watchmen comic, so his opinion is a little more favorable. He would even like to see it again. But me? I’m already dreading its DVD release and the 20 bucks we’re going to waste on it.

You’re the first one I’ve seen review this. That bad, huh?

I thought it was. It was boring, confusing, and left too many nagging questions about minor plot points. The only character I found even remotely decent was Rorschach, and Silk Spectre’s wig was awful.

The guys are gonna see it this weekend. I’m not a superhero fan, so I’ll pass. Z is a huge Watchmen fan, so he’ll probably have the same review as Dan.
I’m glad that SOMEBODY likes DST! I HATE it!! I like my daylight in the morning.

My mental faculties require DST. Without it, the voices in my head go bonkers.
I would be hard pressed to say that Watchmen is a superhero movie. More like a superloser movie.

I love the book, but every one of the movies based on Alan Moore’s work has really, really, really sucked. I won’t even bother with this one.

I liked From Hell and V for Vendetta. League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was crap and I obviously didn’t like Watchmen. But, I’m also not that into mainstream comics, so I haven’t read the books.

I heard it was bad, not much else to expect considering 300…

The Watchmen was a superb movie , its not for losers who liked X-men
The storyline had to be compressed but is a true adaption that any other comic to movie
It deals with mature themes and requires you to think, there are many philosophical points to contemplate but the naive and attention defunct cant handle it
its not for everyone , but that doesn’t make it bad
although it has action , it is not an action movie
and thats whats throwing the masses for a loop

Bubie, are you calling me stupid?
March 18th, 2009 at 8:16 pm
Nope, just giving my 2 cents worth
i read to many bad reviews
and it seems the audiences are to hung up on blue penis blowing in the wind to pay attention to the major points of the movie
the grand finale being the “what doe sit take to unite mankind”
most fail to see had Oz not enacted his plan the world would have been decimated by nuclear holocaust. he saved the world at a heavy cost , their are other morale lessons put to question in the movie i just find it sad that people are missing the points the authors intended to be made , the comic readers understood, but movie goers not so :9 makes me sad
hehe , and Courtney I’d never call you stupid

Hey, male, full-frontal nudity is always good, even if it is fake.
I get that the story is dark and gritty, but the movie presentation was slow, boring and full of references the average movie-goer won’t get. I understand and like the story just fine, but the movie was made for fans of the comic and no one else.
