I don’t get the attraction to Llamas, but here one is, anyway.

Of all the photos I took of these two, this is the only one that wasn’t a total blur. This is a mama Texas Longhorn and her one month old baby, MacGuyver, well, his bum, anyway. Mama was a little agitated by the Tibetan Yak’s next door, and Mac just wanted to play.

A whole lotta hamburger!

Dan made a new friend in Birdie an American Belgian.

I don’t remember this horse’s name, but it is a Percheron.

Nice photos, Courtney! Makes me miss my hometown’s county fair. I went to it religiously every year from Kindergarten through 12th grade.
Oh, the lovely smell of the livestock barns!
My friends who lived outside city limits and were part of FFA always seemed to be stuck in the livestock area and never had time to get out and enjoy some of the sights, sounds and TASTES of a good ol’ county fair. Too bad for them. Still, I always wished I lived outside city limits and could have an FFA project animal. It was like an exclusive club that only the “rich” could belong to (because most of the kids involved were children of the fairly wealthy dairy farmers).
Anyway, when I was a young girl, I was bitten rather severely by the “horse-bug” and used to know the names and defining characteristics of many horse breeds. Now I’m doing good just to keep Appaloosas, Morgans, Arabians and Thoroughbreds straight in this aging brain of mine! I had completely forgetten there was a breed called Percheron. That’s one big draft horse!
