December 21st, 2007Frust-rated!
I think I’m going to lose my geek-cred here, but my electronics thumb has turned black. I can’t connect my Nintendo DS through the Wi-Fi; the Wii no longer remains connected (even though I have Wii Connect 24 turned on). Our internet connection is intermittent; if I ever want to use my webcam I have to close all other applications that might want to use it (this is new — before, I could have Yahoo and Skype open and use the webcam). My scanner doesn’t want to scan, and the printer takes it’s own sweet time, that is, if it’s in the mood to print. And… our DVR decided it doesn’t want to record anymore.
I’m sure I can fix everything if I just sit down and figure everything out, but it’s so overwhelming. All I want for Christmas is for someone to come and make everything all better.
On the plus side, I did get The Legend of Zelda installed and running on my calculator. WooHoo!

Holy SHIT!
I hope that your webcam problem isn’t yahoo. L needs to re-connect our webcam for Christmas Eve, and we use yahoo too.
I have a feeling that if Z gets any money for Christmas, he’ll be spending it on putting his Wii online.

Hmmm… I’m not sure if it’s Yahoo. If I want to use the motion sensor when we’re away, we have to close Skype and Yahoo. But if I want to use it with Skype, I have to close just Yahoo, and vice versa.
If Z wants to use the Wi-Fi USB Connector, it’s been discontinued, so he may not be able to find one. I’ve been reading in a few forums that a lot of people are having trouble with poor connection, so he may not even want to use the USB Connector. I can put my DS right in front of it, and it will say “No Access Point Found”, even when it found it a few minutes earlier. I think I’m going to just skip the connector, and save up for a wireless access point. I found instructions for using a wireless router as an access point on a secondary computer on a network, but it just didn’t work.
I think I’m going to just leave it alone for a little while, when I get uber frustrated, I tend to throw things. Not so good.

When it rains it pours doesn’t it? Sorry can’t help with your frustrations but a second web cam may help sort out that issue. I have two running on my home desktop. Well I have two connected but they do work independent of each other.

Hmmm… That may be an idea. I’ll set up our old webcam and see if that helps.

Let Z know how you ultimately solve your Wii problem. He wanted to use a wireless router.
