Update: I actually prepared this post on Wednesday night, and for some reason I forgot to hit ‘Publish’.

Instead of uploading a butt-load of photos that always seem to take forever to load anyway, I thought I would just make videos from now on. It’s actually a little less tedious than uploading every individual photo, and it should save you some loading time. Hopefully.

Tomorrow (actually, I guess it’s today, now) we’re heading down to Missoula so Dan can do a little comics shopping and we can do a little geocaching. Oh, and bird toys, Solomon’s stock is running low and there’s just no selection here in Kalispell. Maybe I’ll even bring back a pinkie or two for the Leopard Gecko.

This is Solomon.

I took a photo of this because it’s in a spiral and won’t scan well. It’s not done, but it’s mostly practice anyway. It’s been years since I’ve drawn anything, and I’m finding it daunting to begin again. After so many years of not drawing and insults from a family member, I’ve lost all confidence, and that doesn’t help the drawing itself. So, yes, I am posting this to fish for compliments, and I’m not ashamed. ;)

Ginny’s Box Turtle, Boxie, decided he wanted to take a tour of the house. After she went to the trouble of putting a weighted screen over his enclosure, he still found a way out. And doesn’t he look proud of himself?

This is a dinosaur plant. This first photo is right out of the box (and in the upper, left corner you can see the dumbest Betta in the world), the second is an hour later.

A close up of a Geranium from Ginny’s garden.

Wild Lupines. These were near Flathead Lake.

A video of Solomon I took this evening. I guess I’m feeling guilty because I listed the cats and dogs with Catster and Dogster, but there is no Birdster to list Solomon with. At the end you can see just how much Solomon lurves me. When a bird regurgitates, it’s sort of Psittacine Foreplay. Ewww… (Edit: I’ve been playing “Black Horse and a Cherry Tree,” by KT Tunstall a few times, if you haven’t heard this song, check it out, Solomon highly recommends it!)

I was hoping to post these photo’s as a slide show using Slide.com, but it quits responding as I’m about to choose the style. I’m not sure if it’s our connection speed, which I tested yesterday and has slowed considerably since Cyberport bought MontanaSky.net, or if my computer just can’t handle Flash very well. However, the shows display fine on others’ blogs. I might try again throughout the day, and edit this post if it works.

Moving on. Many may recognize this face — Solomon! He’s recently learned that if he’s getting a time-out he should say, “hey, what’re you doing?” and that might get him out of it. He’s also getting better at making up his own songs — they actually sound good now. By the way, on September 23rd, he will be celebrating his sixth birthday!
