I’ve been in a funk for a while now.  I wouldn’t say I’ve been depressed, I just haven’t been enjoying things the way I used to and my frustration level has been high.  A funk, a funk I say.  So when I saw Zombie Slayer’s recent post about the things he likes, I thought, “That’s what I need to do, a list of things I’m diggin’ on.” Let’s see how many I can actually come up with. ;)

1. Warehouse 13 — Secret Service agents searching for dangerous, supernatural relics? Check. The chick from Drake and Josh? Check. Elements of Steampunk? Check. Saul Rubinek? Aww yeah, check!

2. Super Cute Kawaii — Make sure you get a super-sized dose of insulin before checking in with Monsieur Le Bun. When you’re done there, check out Cuteable.com.

3. Leverage — I know, it’s another television show, but I dearly love it. Clever cons, great one-liners and a fabulous cast.

4. Nancy Drew games by Her Interactive — I have all but one of the games, and I play them over and over. I like both the Original Adventure series and the new Dossier series. There’s brain stimulating puzzles and fun characters. Well, the newest game, Ransom of the Seven Ships, was a little low on puzzles and characters, but the rest are great.

5. Penpals — The old school kind. Where you actually have to use a pen and paper. Whoa, I know, what a concept!

6. The Northwest Montana Fair — I don’t usually have a good time at the fair, but this year I was really looking forward to it. Dan gets sick on rides, so this year I decided I’d just go on them by myself. I’m glad I did; I’d forgotten how much fun they can be. Fair food isn’t quite as good up here as it is back east, but I was able to enjoy my pulled pork sandwich in spite of it.

7. Cow Pooling — Anyone wanna share a side of beef with me?

8. My dog, Bella — I’ve had dogs in my life, but Bella is THE dog. The best dog I’ve ever had, and I love her to bits!

9. Bento Boxes — I just got my first one and I can’t wait to pack my lunch! I also got six egg molds so I can shape hard-boiled eggs.

And I guess nine is all I’ve got. :busy:

What are some things you’re lovin’ right now?

I think I deserve a slacker award lately! The great thing about summer is that I can not post in a while and not feel a bit guilty about it.

A little over a week ago we went to Great Falls, MT and did the tourist thing. We stopped at Ulm Pishkun at the First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park. Ulm is the town near the jump and Pishkun comes from the Blackfeet word for ‘deep blood kettle’. At a mile long, it’s believe to be the largest jump in North America and was used for 600 years — much longer than most jumps are used.

We also made it out to Ryan Dam to see why Great Falls is called Great Falls. I’ll admit it — I first thought they should have named it ‘Meh Falls’, but before the dam was built, it would have been a beautiful sight.

Since it was going on, and well, we were there, we went to the Montana State Fair, which was also kind of ‘meh’. We did spend the two bucks to see the freak show, though. It was somewhat entertaining.

Other than that we’ve been doing some more fishing, a little geocaching and other various things. I’ve been making ATCs and plans for altering a candy box I have. Now that Dan has been laid-off from his job we plan on a few more trips around Montana and some major geocaching hunts. The Northwest Montana fair should be going live in a few days, so we’ll attend that and the rodeo as well.

Dat’s all I got!

A bit blurry, but a few of my favourite things.

By the way, do you know where the title of this post came from?

One of my favourtie “isms” is, “Windows Sucks!!” Another is, “Windows can bite my…” well, you know. And still another is, “I’m a moron.”

I got a little ticked (another “ism”) that Linux wouldn’t configure the ALSA sound devices, so I thought, “well, now that there’s an internet connection, why don’t I try a dual-boot with Windows.” See, when I tried to reinstall Windows in the first place, I got a pesky little NTLDR error, and all of the fixes I found just weren’t working. So I said (well, I won’t tell you what I really said), “I’ve been wanting to stick it to Microsoft anyway, this will just be an incentive to install Linux.”

Anyway, it’s been several months, and Linux just couldn’t do what I wanted. But y’know what? Windows doesn’t play well with others. If you have Windows and install a dual-boot with Linux, everything partitions off just fine. But if you have Linux and try to install a dual-boot with Windows, Windows may look like it’s configuring a partition on the hard drive, but what it’s really doing is erasing the hard drive. Good thing I backed up most everything. I lost a bunch of photos, guess I should have backed them up more often.

In the meantime, while I organize everything again, I thought I’d put up a vid. It’s from the rodeo at this years Fair. The Rodeo clown’s name is Troy, by the way.

I don’t get the attraction to Llamas, but here one is, anyway.

Of all the photos I took of these two, this is the only one that wasn’t a total blur. This is a mama Texas Longhorn and her one month old baby, MacGuyver, well, his bum, anyway. Mama was a little agitated by the Tibetan Yak’s next door, and Mac just wanted to play.

A whole lotta hamburger!

Dan made a new friend in Birdie an American Belgian.

I don’t remember this horse’s name, but it is a Percheron.
