April 6th, 2008A Sad Day for the NRA
Charlton Heston has died. I disliked Charlton Heston immensely. Excuse me while I fail to mourn.

“…And an ass” Not so, Tweety. Sounds like sour grapes to me. Heston was a great actor and a wonderful person. He was someone who actually did something worthwhile, such as, defending our constitutional right to own guns. He, also, was actively vocal in his criticism of the filthy lyrics in many ‘rap’ songs. If this had been about ‘Princess Dianne’ or some other ‘wanna-be’, I might agree.

Excuse me, Jim, but if you feel that I have “sour grapes” perhaps you could show a little decency and address ME rather than Tweety. I made no mention of being against the NRA or against the 2nd Amendment in my post. The title of my post was tongue-in-cheek and chosen because of the nifty rhyme — nothing is too serious or off limits that I won’t make a joke of it. I support the NRA and the 2nd Amendment, I simply did not like the man’s holier-than-thou attitude in general. I think he did more damage to the right to bear arms than helped. And as far as his criticism against “filthy lyrics in many rap songs”? Interesting that he did NOT support the 1st amendment. I call that hypocrisy.

“Princess Dianne?”
Do you mean, Princess Diana?
Hardly a “wanna-be.”

I liked him in Planet of the Apes and Soylent Green. I didn’t like the rest, and I thought that Ben Hur was awful.

Maybe now they really *can* take it from his cold, dead hands…If those damn dirty apes didn’t do it already.
Yes, I’m bored.

Don’t worry about the NRA, we still have Ted Nugent out there helping support the 2nd Amendment.
As for Heston, he was an Ok actor, maybe he should have stuck with that.

SF, “Soylent Green is… PEOPLE!!!”
Josh, you may be bored, but that was a good joke.
Bruce, I don’t know what it is, but even though I disagree with Ted Nugent, I get a kick out of him. I don’t dislike him.
